Types Of Anchor Points For Sloping Rooftop Safety

If you are working on a sloping rooftop, there are different roof anchor points in Sydney that you can use. Read on as we explain the different types of anchor points to use on a sloping rooftop.

Using a sling

This is a polyamide strap. It is usually tied around a secure object on the opposite side of the working location on a slopping roof. At the end of the rope, there is a safety hook that is connected to the sling. You can tie the sling to a towing eye of a van, a living truth that has a large diameter and so on.

Remember that it is needed to have someone watching over your rope and anchor point in case of accidents. You could also use a solid object within your building such as a spiral staircase.

Jamb anchor

A jamb anchor can be used as a roof safety system for sloping rooftops. Jamb anchors can be mounted in a window frame or doorframe. They are described as tubes with two clamps that can be set at various widths. The rope that goes over the slopping roof can be attached to a safety eye using the safety hook.

Jamb anchors can be clamped between the posts of a door and the frame of a window. However, jamb anchors are always wider than the doorpost or the frame, which means that they can’t be installed if there isn’t enough room for the end.

If the jamb anchor can’t be mounted to the front or back door of the building, an inner door can be used, as long as the door post is in the supporting wall. If there is a hatch for accessing a crawl space behind your front door, this hatch could be used to mount your jamb roof anchor points in Sydney.
